Dogs

We care about our pets in the Township of South Algonquin so we hope you’ll join us in keeping them safe. Dog owners are required to obtain a dog license for each of their dogs.

Lifetime dog licenses can be obtained at the Township office at a cost of $10.00/dog.

Replacement fee for lost tags $5.00

When you purchase a dog license, you will be given a dog tag that must be attached to your dog’s collar.

South Algonquin does not have an animal shelter. The Township has an agreement with Bonnechere Valley Animal Services to take stray animals whose owners cannot be found. If you have lost your dog, call the Township office to see if we’ve picked it up.
