The Township of South Algonquin

District of Nipissing

Welcome to South Algonquin

South Algonquin is located adjacent to the south-east corner of Algonquin Provincial Park and offers you an abundance of four-season wilderness experiences with our numerous lakes, rivers, streams and thousands of acres of crown land — here for you to explore.

Our area is well known for its hundreds of kilometers of recreational trails, offering snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and dogsledding during the winter months. Throughout the other seasons, South Algonquin offers hiking, ATVing, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, camping, hunting and fishing.

The fishing is great all year round, especially trout fishing. We have excellent small and large mouth bass fishing during their open season. Walleye and pike, having been introduced to the area more than twenty years ago, offer large trophies for the fishing enthusiast.

Public Service Announcement RE: Canada Post Strike

Nov 15th, 2024

The Township of South Algonquin would like to remind our residents that there is currently a Canada Post strike.

The Township encourages residents to register for the online services portal at https://eservices.southalgonquin.ca/ , which you received a link to in your August tax bills. Should you require further assistance please feel free to contact the municipal office.

Payments can be made online in your portal in real time or can be made as a bill payee at your banking institution or online.

Overdue accounts will continue to accrue interest, and balances will continue to be due regardless of the status of the Canada Post strike.
