National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
The Township joins with all Canadians on this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to reflect on the painful history that Indigenous peoples endured in residential schools in Canada and on the work that remains to heal and to continue to build an inclusive society.
In respect of and in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation the Township offices will remain closed. Without Truth there is no reconciliation.
